Roasted Octopus

PRESENTATION

Welcome everyone! Today, I’m introducing a dish that blends Mediterranean culinary tradition with the modernity of cooking technology: Roasted Octopus in the Air Fryer.

Roasted octopus is a seafood delight, cherished for its tender meat and intense flavor. Traditionally, cooking octopus requires time and careful attention, but with the air fryer, we can achieve a perfect result more quickly and healthily. The air fryer allows for even cooking, with an irresistible crispy exterior and a soft, juicy interior, while minimizing the use of oil.

INGREDIENTS

FOR ABOUT 2 PEOPLE
1 octopus, about 1 kg, cleaned
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (about 30 ml)
1 organic lemon, juiced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Fresh chopped parsley
Salt
Black pepper
Sweet or hot paprika

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (392°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Immerse the octopus in the prepared marinade, making sure it’s evenly coated. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator for a more intense flavor.
  4. Place the octopus in the air fryer basket, trying not to overlap the tentacles.
  5. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning the octopus halfway through, until it’s golden and crispy on the outside.
  6. Serve the octopus hot, drizzled with the remaining lemon juice and a little raw olive oil. Garnish with additional chopped parsley and, if desired, some lemon slices.

STORAGE

Leftover roasted octopus can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

TIP

Each air fryer may vary slightly in cooking times. Check the octopus halfway through cooking to ensure it doesn’t dry out too much.
