INGREDIENTS

FOR ABOUT 4 SERVINGS
8 sheets of filo pastry (approximately 200 g)
200 g of Nutella (or other chocolate spread)
50 g of melted butter
Powdered sugar to taste (approximately 20 g for dusting)
Spray oil for the air fryer

PREPARATION

 

  1. Prepare the filo pastry sheets according to the package instructions; if needed, thaw them and cover with a damp cloth to prevent drying out.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (356°F).
  3. Lay a sheet of filo pastry on a clean work surface and brush with melted butter.
  4. Repeat with three more sheets of filo pastry, layering them on top of each other and brushing each layer with melted butter.
  5. Cut the stack of filo pastry into strips about 8 cm long and 6 cm wide.
  6. Place a bit of Nutella at the end of each filo strip and roll them around the filling, tucking the ends of the pastry underneath to seal the pastries.
  7. Place the pastries in the air fryer, spraying with oil to help them brown, and cook at 180°C (356°F) for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. Remove the pastries from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
  9. Dust the pastries with powdered sugar before serving.

 

STORAGE

Nutella-Stuffed Pastries are best enjoyed right after preparation to savor their crispiness and soft Nutella filling. However, if you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days.

TIP

For an extra touch, serve the pastries on a bed of custard or with a dusting of powdered sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an even more indulgent dessert.
